Intergroup relations refers to perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors that people think or express when they think of themselves and others as members of different social groups. This course is designed so that students develop breadth and depth in their understanding of empirical research and theory on stereotyping, prejudice, intergroup cooperation, discrimination, and social categorization, among other topics. Intergroup Relations is a course is designed for delivery online, over a five-week period, and we will cover the same amount of material as in a typical fall or spring semester, which is 15 weeks long. This abbreviated timeline means that you should expect to spend twice as much time per week on this course as you would during a fall or spring semester.
